Emerson Selig (Husband): Emerson was working as a researcher at the Bell telephone company when he met Jean. He was building a device, similar to our machines, that could locate other chaotically-aligned individuals like himself. He found Jean almost on cue. Jean turned Emerson’s attention toward esoteric science. Emerson found a way to “resurrect” simple life forms, but he retired when his experiments injured his son Lucius.

Piper Pastore (Daughter): Piper once had chaotic abilities of her own, but they disappeared when her twin brother had his accident. Piper had the gift of all-sight, an ability to see different realities, all the iterations of the Multiverse. Jean encouraged Piper to be an artist, giving her a creative outlet even after the all-sight faded away.

Nicolae Pastore (Son-in-Law): Jean couldn’t have been more pleased with her daughter’s choice of a husband. Jean saw her own marriage reflected in that of her daughter’s. Jean welcomed Nicolae into the family, as though she knew that her son-in-law and her husband would be colleagues.

Lucius Selig (Son): Lucius was injured in one of Emerson’s experiments on Nimsesku. Lucius possessed no chaotic abilities until that moment, but then he started to slip from one dimension to another. For his safety Lucius’ parents pulled him from school and kept him at home, as though he had a chronic medical condition. Jean taught Lucius how to control his trances and visit places he wished to see. Lucius is grateful to her, but we have to wonder: did Jean engineer his accident?

Lex and Morgan (Grandchildren): Jean cannot corrupt her grandchildren anymore, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. Lex, who is only ten years old, is pursuing his research with the same determination as his grandfather. Jean caused this. Morgan was being trained for some other purpose, but we can only guess what that was.
